After 2021’s '‘When Will You Return“ EP, BRAVE ARROWS return with ‘‘Mourning Underground‘‘, the first fulllengh written by mastermind Michael Socrates, who you may also know from his share in IF THESE TREES COULD TALK. The release features 10 brandnew tracks of flawless postrock, that were written and assembled in a difficult time and so became a channel and outlet for different emotions and feelings.
Michaels quote on the release:
„Mourning Underground was written after a particular tumultuous year. I lost my father, who had been the closest death I had experienced in my life and was completely unexpected. From that, I think I channeled much of my sorrow into songs, and really just wanted to go for what felt good and felt right. On top of that, Brave Arrows became a live entity, which dictated the recording process more so than I had originally planned. Having the guys to flesh these songs out live really gave me some time to break down and build up each song in the studio and build them up to their eventual form. Now having some hindsight on the record, I’m super proud of what I have come up with and really hope it moves others in the same way it moved me. Music has always been my grounding force, and this record was a true testament to my love and appreciation for the craft. After I did my first EP, I was certain my creative juices were dried up so it feels really good to be releasing my first full length record.“
