COLLAPSE UNDER THE EMPIRE report impressively back with a new album! CHRIS BURDA and MARTIN GRIMM once again show their diversity and release a work full of passion and great melodies. After “The Fallen Ones” (2017), the duo released a vinyl box with rare and unreleased songs in 2019. At the same time, this was their 10th anniversary as a band. The Hamburg band has firmly established itself in the post-rock scene in recent years and has become one of the most renowned bands in this genre internationally. With their previous seven albums and a number of EPs, they developed their own electronically influenced post-rock sound. COLLAPSE UNDER THE EMPIRE combines post-rock and synthwave in a unique way that brings together fans of electronic sounds and fans of harder styles. In terms of content, the band sets to music a dark world that has spiraled out of control. conflicts everywhere: the coronavirus, environmental destruction, humanity's greed, injustice, exploitation, poverty, war and resistance. The 8 tracks show this development in dark soundscapes, apocalyptic guitars and epic synth sounds, which turn the songs into veritable mountains of sound.
