COLTAINE - Forgotten Ways CD

With "Forgotten Ways," Coltaine create a sonic universe that consistently defies easy categorization. Founded in the Black Forest in 2022, the band blends post-metal, blackgaze, psychedelic rock, and doom into a dark work that feels both otherworldly and emotionally immediate.

Within just a few minutes, the album draws the listener into a mist-shrouded world where light and darkness constantly interpenetrate. Heavy, reverberating guitar textures meet fragile melodies; explosive outbursts alternate with near-meditative passages. This creates an intense tension between existential heaviness and an underlying hope that runs through the songs like a spiritual counterpoint. Musically, some moments evoke the sheer force of post-metal, while others drift into psychedelic expanses or melancholic blackgaze landscapes.
