HAERESIS - Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum CD

With Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum, the Berlin-based extreme metal formation Haeresis presents their debut album on CD and vinyl LP via Vendetta Records, marking a milestone in the band’s still young history. After three years of intensive songwriting and collective creativity, the band delivers a work that is both uncompromising and multifaceted. The title itself—Latin for “If you want peace, prepare for war”—already points to the duality that runs like a red thread through the album: raw aggression and reflective depth. Musically, Haeresis weave the harsh energy of black metal with the monumental soundscapes of film scores and the weight of post-metal. The result is a sonic cosmos that feels both merciless and atmospheric, consistently resisting simple categorization. Lyrically, vocalist Christin Graunke addresses the fractures of contemporary existence: alienation in postmodern life, the destructive influence of organized religion, and the mechanisms of imperialist violence. She is supported by guest vocalists Natalya Androsova (Machukha) and Yaryna Borynets (Salt Falls, Lori), whose voices add an extra layer of emotional intensity—at times ghostly, at times cutting. With Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum, Haeresis have created a debut that is equally furious, introspective, and challenging.
