NIDARE - Naehe und Flackern / Es laesst nicht los, ich jedoch laengst CD

Nidare belong to that strain of post-black metal that does not view heaviness as an end in itself. Across the two EPs *Naehe und Flackern* (2023) and *Es laesst nicht los, ich jedoch laengst* (2024), the Berlin-based band fuses black metal, blackgaze, post-metal, and dissonant soundscapes into a sound where rage and vulnerability are inextricably linked. Both EPs are now being released together for the first time as a CD compilation

*Naehe und Flackern* revolves around hatred in its various manifestations. The songs tell stories of powerlessness, intolerance, alienation, and the attempt to break free from destructive emotional cycles. Musically, Nidare translate these conflicts into urgent, aggressive passages without sacrificing atmospheric depth. Here, hatred does not appear as a crude caricature of an enemy, but rather as a destructive force acting from both without and within. On *Es laesst nicht los, ich jedoch laengst*, the focus shifts further inward while simultaneously turning toward society. Political alienation, social insecurity, anxiety, depression, and existential exhaustion define the four tracks. An interplay between eruptive heaviness and calmer, clean-vocal moments makes this inner turmoil tangibly real. It is precisely these contrasts that give the EP its intensity: taken together, the two EPs speak of a world where rage, isolation, and a sense of being overwhelmed cannot simply be resolved. Nidare transform this not into melodramatic *Weltschmerz*, but into a raw, emotionally charged post-black metal that lashes out and looks inward in equal measure.
